Did you know childhood drowning is the leading cause of death among children ages 1 – 4 years old? Jenny Steininger, a Tampa resident, an avid runner, a longtime drowning prevention advocate and an ISR Instructor is dedicating her race in the Chicago Marathon on October 9 to raise awareness for childhood drowning prevention.

Jenny set a goal to raise $13,000 ($1,000 for every 2 miles) between now and race day on October 9.  She will also be dedicating her race to the following Angels gone too soon because of a fatal drowning. The Angels being remembered are:

All proceeds from Jenny’s race will benefit The Live Like Jake Foundation and The Water Smart Tots Foundation. Both nonprofit organizations exist to raise awareness for childhood drowning prevention, to provide financial and emotional support for families who have experienced a drowning accident and to provide scholarships for self-rescue swim lessons for families that cannot afford them.

Can we count on your support in Jenny’s Race to raise awareness and end childhood drowning?  Any dollar amount is appreciated.
