Gardens family works to raise awareness, provide swim scholarships

Nearly seven years after losing their toddler son in a drowning accident, Keri and Roarke Morrison are working to keep other children safe in the water.

Live Like Jake, a nonprofit organization established in 2014, raises awareness for drowning prevention, provides swim scholarships for children, and offers financial and emotional support to grieving families.

The Morrisons, who live in Palm Beach Gardens, channeled their own grief over their son’s drowning during a family vacation in November 2013 into their foundation, which has provided over 2,100 scholarships for Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) self-rescue swim lessons in 37 states, Keri Morrison said.
