Swim expert Keri Morrison: Avoid child floaties
As summer approaches and kids are finishing their school year, local experts are warning everyone to take water safety seriously.
Keri Morrison lost her young son in a horrific drowning accident, and they didn’t even have a pool. Morrison started the Live Like Jake Foundation to encourage parents to enroll their children in Infant Swimming Resource lessons, or ISR.
Morrison said people often think it’s a lack of supervision when really it’s a “lapse” in supervision. Morrison also said water wings and other floatation devices can actually be dangerous.
